Part of God's Big Picture
One day as I was preparing lunch, my six daughters were looking through family photo albums with lots of laughter and chattering. Then my youngest daughter, Emily who was 3 years old at the time, pointed to a picture and said, "Is that me?" Her sisters kept saying, "No that's not you, that's daddy, and mommy, and Rachel and Ashley. You weren't born yet." This happened several times and Emily started to grow frustrated. Every time she thought she was in the picture, she found out that she wasn't.
Later on the girls were talking about the photos-all except Emily. She was sitting next to them, quietly drawing a picture. After she finished, she held up the picture to show her sisters. One of the girls asked, "Emily, who is that?" to which she replied, "That's daddy, mommy and me. You guys weren't born yet."
We all want to feel included. We want to know that we're a part of the "Big Picture." Well, guess what? We are! Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future." We are a part of God's plan. Though every person's plan is different, we all have a job to complete while on the earth. And those plans He has for you, only you can fulfill.
As you let the Lord lead and guide you, trusting in Him, He'll empower you to do all that He has called you to do.
As you serve others, know that you are serving Him. Servants are not always seen, but they are always rewarded. Even if some won't see you in the picture, God sees you. And He sees all that you are doing to further His Kingdom. So thank you for choosing to live your life according to God's plan. You play a bigger part than you know. Keep up the great work, for great is your reward!
